Middle Fell have really enjoyed making their own instruments using what they have found out about pitch and volume.

We loved learning about seasonal changes and how to stay safe on those long Winter nights.

Wonderful learning about seasonal weather today, we have loved making our own windmills and identifying different kinds of weather.

In Art we have enjoyed learning a new skill- weaving. We firstly mastered the technique by using paper before moving on to using a loom and wool to create fire of London inspired weavings using hot colours to represent the fire. It was not an easy skill to master and we had to show perseverance…

We continue to be blown away by the quality of long term homework that is being produced, we are so grateful to everyone for their ongoing support from home- the partnership is so important to us and we are so grateful for all of your input from home.

Today Middle Fell have become Soil Detectives! Quite a messy affair, but everyone got stuck in!

Cross Fell have enjoyed using a range of simple equipment to observe a range of leaves closely. We sorted our leaves and used our books  and tablets to help us to identify what they were. Great job everyone!

As part of our literacy work we have been reading a story called Pattan’s pumpkin. It has been lovely to share a story from another culture and expand our understanding.

Today we enjoyed exploring some pumpkins building some lovely vocabulary to use in our next writing task- it was such good…

Cross Fell were really fortunate to have Mrs Tuffin today sharing a range of instruments with us, it is such a treat to be able to listen to talented musicians playing a range of instruments and inspiring our own musical journeys. Thankyou Mrs Tuffin.

We had fun…

We caught the robber! Today in the next part of our story Claude the dog helped the police to catch the robber, we learned all about questions and used them to find out what had happened. We love it when we can use drama to bring our learning to life and help us to expand our ever growing…

We really enjoyed getting outdoors this afternoon looking at different creatures in their micro habitats. Everyone was very careful with the creatures we found and had some super observations about them using our magnifying glasses to help us. Top scientists!
