Gilderdale Visit
We had a visit to Gilderdale Forest School. We enjoyed exploring the area, climbing and using obstacles. We also got to enjoy rock painting. We had a recap on our fire safety rules and enjoyed toasting marshmallows around a fire.
Comic Relief
We created our own giant red noses for Comic Relief. We used paper mache around balloons to create the shape and then once dried, decorated with paint.
Walk to Fairhill
We went on a walk to Fairhill to explore the woodland area and investigate the ponds.
Live Author lesson
For World Book Day, we had a live follow along drawing session with authors. They taught us how to draw the squirrel from 'That's not my flower'.
Police vehicle
PC Joel came in to show us a police vehicle. We discussed why we needed them and the features of it. We loved hearing the siren and having a go to sit inside.
Walk to find local transport
We went on a walk around our local area to discover which transport we would find. We also went to the train station to look at the steam railway.
Mental Health Week
During Children's mental health week, we used the colour monster books to discuss different emotions and what these might look like. We also talked about how we can deal with these emotions and makes makes us, us.
Junk Modelling
We have been junk modelling, creating our own vehicles.
Wheelchair basketball
We had great fun participating in wheelchair basketball. We practiced moving the wheelchairs in and out of poles and practicing our aiming with the ball.
PE - Ball skills
In PE, we are focussing on ball skills. We have been practicing passing, bouncing the balls, and moving them around in different ways.
Comparing transport - present and past
We have been looking at transport, comparing different types from the past and present.
