Year 7 have started using 'The Day' online newspaper during their literacy sessions. This week, they were keen to read the story of Punch, the baby macaque monkey who was abandoned by his mother at a zoo in Japan. Zookeepers gave Punch a cuddly orangutan toy to act as a substitute mother until he became accepted by his troop.
Students were captivated by this heart warming story and contributed to a class post on 'The Day' website giving their views on the statement 'Are we all just big, lonely monkeys?'
