To celebrate National Poetry Day on 1st October, all students across Years 7 to 11 took part in poetry activities during their English lessons last week.
As an introduction to the poetry elements of their GCSE English literature course, Year 10 discussed what makes a poem a poem, completed an introductory poetry analysis task before writing their own poems on the theme of 'Wonder'.
National Poetry Day was further marked by a special online live lesson for KS3 students, featuring the brilliant poet Michael Rosen, and Mrs Hinkley led a whole school assembly on Friday, which included a celebration of poetry created by some of our students.
