On their very first day at SKS, our new Year 7 students took part in an active Citizenship lesson where they learnt all about life transitions and strategies they could utilise to help them manage change.

Students discussed the similarities and differences between primary and secondary education, the most exciting things about starting a new school and those they were nervous about, before trying to identify practical ways to over come some of their worries.

At the end of the lesson, each group came up with their own ideas to help future students manage their transition to secondary school. These were then compiled to make a class 'top tips' poster for their form room, along with a list of organisations and websites that provide support and advice to young people.
