Well done to our Year 10 and 11 students for taking part in a mock interview competition on Friday 6th March to mark the end of a busy National Careers Week here at SKS. All students who were present on the day actively engaged with the event by meeting an employer or representative from the local business community to sit a short, fifteen-minute interview. Students also received feedback on their CVs that they had produced during their English lessons.

A huge "Thank You" to our interview panel, namely:

  • Sharon Brook (North Lakes Hotel and Spa)
  • Rebecca Coyle (Robinwood Activity Centre)
  • Doug Kimber (AMF Governor & public sector/digital/IT)
  • Lindsay Lowes (RED Engineering)
  • Martin Rodwell (Pennine Ways Estate agents)

After interviewing five students during the first round, each interviewer then nominated their best candidate to go through to the second round and noted who they thought was the 'best dressed'. Doug and Sharon then had the rather unenviable task of trying to shortlist their top three during the final interviews . They were both incredibly complimentary about how our students conducted themselves throughout the process.

The winners were announced by Mrs Sutterby during a special National Careers Week assembly.
