Careers Day at the North Lakes Hotel and Spa

Year 7 kicked- off National Careers Week in style with a special careers day at the North Lakes Hotel and Spa, Penrith.

The bespoke event was organised by Sharon Brook, our school Enterprise Advisor and Head of Sales at the hotel. 

Along with being taken on a tour of the hotel and facilities, students met a wide range of different members of staff including:

• Executive Chef Chris who set everyone the challenge of making their own pizzas for lunch.
• Caron and Tracey from the housekeeping team who taught everyone how to fold a small towel into the shape of a rose. 
• Jen who showed them how to pipe lettering onto cookies and plates using melted chocolate- just in time for their dessert!
• Becky who spoke about her new role as social media marketing and content creator. 
• Carys handed out scent samples of the essential oils used in the spa and supervised a relaxing meditation session. 

A huge thank you to Sharon and all the team at the North Lakes Hotel and Spa for hosting such a fantastic event for our students. Their hospitality and enthusiasm were first class.
