Back in the summer term, nine of our current Year 8 students signed up and actively took part in a two-day 'Voices For Equality' training programme, delivered by Lucy Allan from the Anne Frank Trust for Cumbria.

During the training session, students learnt about Anne Frank, the Holocaust, antisemitism and prejudice in different forms today; whilst also developing a greater understanding of key ideas including discrimination, stereotypes and unconscious bias.

The final part of their training was a peer education project; with students being challenged to create a presentation and deliver it to younger peers within the school. This happened on Monday 17th November, when Year 7 students watched these presentations during their Citizenship lesson.
