So, at the moment the Higher group of learners have been delving further into Quantitative Chemistry....more and more mathematical based problems they have been solving.  They have been introduced to the "mole", a very large number, 602 sectillion to be precise also know as Avagadro's number.  This is a very important number when it comes Chemistry.  The Foundation group have moved swiftly on to a new unit, Chemical Changes and have been learning about what makes a "metal oxide" and yes you've guessed it, it is a metal being combined to an oxygen.  Our next challenge is to see if we can all remember the order of reactivity.....something about "Charlie's Monkeys and Zebras" but more about that next time.
