GCSE music compositions
Our GCSE music students have been developing their composition work using Garageband software to layer up sounds. They have been helping and inspiring each other's creations. We look forward to seeing how their pieces evolve.
Year 7 pyjama party
What a fun night year 7 had last night at their pyjama party. The afternoon kicked off with games in the school hall, followed by a disco led by various budding DJs and then pizza and chips in Mrs Jones’s catering room. Thank you to year 7 for your enthusiasm and amazing company.
Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
Year 8 have been exploring hooks and riffs this term. This week, they performed the Eurythmics hit ‘Sweet Dreams’. Some students drummed the steady rhythm on the cajons, others learned the keyboard chords and some sung the melody. Well done year 8!
The Phantom of the Opera
Year 9 have been exploring musicals and this week they practised playing the infamous ‘Phantom of the Opera’, learning how to play a chromatic scale and using an organ sound for effect.
Year 7 Singing
Year 7 have been well and truly warming up their voices recently. Since September we have been dedicating time to singing and there have been all kinds of requests from Chris De Burgh to Benson Boone! Well done year 7. Keep singing with enthusiasm!
