Today- 27^th January, is Holocaust Memorial Day- the international day which marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz- Birkenau, which was the largest Nazi death camp. It is a time for the world to remember the atrocities committed during WW2 and to think about the lives of those people…

Brilliant work from Year 9 on the trampolines this morning. Some pupils perfected their somersaults with others pushing themselves to improve tuck jumps and front drops. 

Year 7 and Year 8 have had a great time doing gymnastics in PE today. Through vaults and trampoline basics were the focus of the lesson. 

Key Stage 4 enjoyed trampolining this morning in PE. Many of the pupils mastered the seat drop, with others progressing further through more complex skills. 

SKS had an assembly this afternoon providing information about careers in agriculture. 

Year 10 and Year 11 have been learning the basics of volleyball today. 

Pupils from Key Stage 3 are taking part in an inter-school Table Cricket competition today following their sessions at SKS with Cumbria Cricket. The games are underway. 

KS4 have been exploring the Scottish capital. Ice Skating, and a visit to Edinburgh Castle are among the recent activities. 

City residential to Edinburgh is underway. Sightseeing on day one. 
 

KS4 pupils were using their problem-solving and teamwork skills in Maths this week to break codes as part of a GCHQ session. 

Some brilliant effort in Tag Rugby yesterday with Year 7 and Year 8. They worked on passing and running skills. In places it was a bit muddy! 

The Year 7 and 8s were excellent in their circuit training session yesterday. The conditions on the field mean that they had to come inside and change activity. They worked really hard on a continuous circuit.
