As part of their current WW1 topic in History, Year 8 learnt about the Christmas Truce of 1914, using resources provided by the Imperial War Museum. We discussed the realities of life in the trenches, the moral and ethical dilemmas faced by soldiers and their commanding officers during the Christmas truce, whilst considering contemporary attitudes towards war and conflict in the modern day.
