In our Science lessons we have been learning that there are many different ways in which living things can be classified, including their habitat, their diet, or how they raise their young.
We started our session today by classifying animals based on the type of animal, such as fish, birds, reptiles, mammals, insects, and amphibians. We then moved onto looking at several ‘poo’ samples to see if we could sort the animals by their diet.
The children used their knowledge of different animals and their diets to identify which animal had created each poo sample. Using clues in each poo the children were also able to classify the animals as carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.
